The COBOX system has been designed with customers' self-implementation of new parts in mind. To this end, the Cobot Planet team provides a wide range of 3D models for self-printing. In the vast majority of cases, the quick and inexpensive printing of gripper fingers from commonly available materials such as ABS or nylon will be sufficient.
Cobot Planet experience indicates that some applications may require the use of more advanced composite materials. The Markforged 3D printing system comes in handy here. The basis of the Markforged system is a range of specialised composite filaments such as the abrasion- and moisture-resistant ONYX (nylon with carbon fibre particles), the temperature-resistant ONYX FR or the antistatic ONYX ESD, as well as the CCF (continuous carbon fibre) printing technology.
With this technology, we gain the ability to reinforce the model by designing and embedding a continuous carbon fibre skeleton into the model. Continuous carbon fibre embedded in a matrix of specialised filament allows much higher mechanical properties to be achieved. The printed model has greater stiffness and resistance to deformation. Depending on the application, the carbon fibre can be replaced by glass fibre or Kevlar.
Cobot Planet uses Markforged technology to manufacture COBOX workstation components such as slings, chokes, vise jaws, but above all gripper fingers. By working with Cobot Planet, you gain access to this innovative and advanced technology. Contact us for details of our service offer for printing with ONYX composites and CCF technology.
